|Too literal for ya?|
Jonah Hill (Superbad) and Miles Teller (Fantastic Four 2015) low bid for a government contract to run guns. They get in way over their heads before they even know it, when having to deal with some shady foreigners, including Bradley Cooper (The A-Team 2010). But before that happens, they're living the big life and partying hard. Teller even has to keep his business away from his insecure girlfriend. The rest is how you say, "the same old". Take 2005's Lord of War, give it an upbeat 21 Jump Street (2012) vibe, and you have War Dogs. There is nothing else to compare this too.
My Prediction- The trailers are funny and Todd Phillips (Old School, The Hangover trilogy) is at the helm. I know he kinda phoned it in on the last two Hangovers, but his first films in a series and solo shots are usually pretty fresh and hilarious. I don't expect greatness, but I do expect to laugh. And besides, everyone loves a plump Jonah Hill. Welcome back, fatty. War Dogs will not be a Piece Of Shit. Just please don't fuck up the ending with some Full House morality lesson.
Todd Phillips is back and this time, he made a movie about gun running, with Jonah Hill and Miles Teller. Now, I'm not a fan of Jonah Hill, I liked him in Superbad, but that's about it. Then Hollywood decided they needed more of Jonah Hill and created Josh Gad in their cloning tanks to continue the annoying, friend who can't get laid no matter what, but inside he's a gentle sweet person, trend. Just to repeat myself, I don't care for Jonah Hill. I think he tries to hard to be funny and since 21 Jump Street, it's obvious that he's just aping all the other funnier comedians that came before him. Can't wait to see who he mimics this time. As for Miles Teller? He was in that new version of Fantastic Four and that's all I need to know. The trailers do look good and funny, plus it's a Todd Phillips film and with the exception of The Hangover 2 and 3, this film should be funny as hell and full of weird awkward moments.
This movie won't be a piece of shit, unless it goes completely off the rails, like, The Fantastic Four trainwreck that came out last year. But that could never happen again... could it? Not A Piece Of Shit.
