The opening of this film establishes the character of Jim Braddock as having been present during the fall of Saigon in 1975. However, this completely contradicts the events set out in, Missing in Action 2: The Beginning (1985) which shows Braddock being captured in Vietnam in 1972 and held as a P.O.W. for over ten years prior to his escape and the events that take place in the original, "Missing In Action." Therefore, there is no way he could have also been in Saigon in 1975.
'Joseph Zito', director of Missing in Action (1984) and Invasion U.S.A. (1985) originally was the director on Braddock: Missing In Action III. He and Chuck Norris had creative and personal differences and Aaron Norris, who was the second unit director, took over as director.
The scene in which Gen. Quoc oversees the torture of Col. Braddock runs just over eight uninterrupted minutes, thus making it one of the movies' longest bondage-and-torture scenes.
The number on the Vietnamese patrol boat is 419 which is the same number as the boat destroyed in Missing in Action 1. The arrival airport is definitely not Bangkok and the car chase scenes are also not in Bangkok. In Thailand cars drive on the LEFT, not the right. An elementary error.
The "Mil-24 Hind" in reality is a Sikorsky S-62, but modified to look like a gunship. The same helicopter was also used in the movie _Red Scorpion (1988)_.
The Vietnam People's Army troops are seen with the Chinese Type 56 assault rifles - Type 56 assault rifles were manufactured in the People's Republic of China since 1956 when technology transfer between the former Soviet Union and PRC was commonplace prior to the Sino-Soviet split in 1962.
This is Aaron Norris first film to direct and the first with Chuck Norris as they made more movies together after this film.
