10 things you didn't know about steven spielbergs ready player one

Steven Spielberg said this was the third most difficult movie he has made in his career, behind Jaws (1975) and Saving Private Ryan (1998).

10.  Director Steven Spielberg approached Gene Wilder about appearing in the film. Wilder respectfully declined, by dying.

9.  On August 11, 2015, a rumor began circulating that Steven Spielberg was "courting" Gene Wilder to play OASIS creator James Halliday, which would've made this the first film Wilder has done since 1999. However, Wilder guest starred as Elmer on Yo Gabba Gabba!(2007).

8.  The Zemeckis cube is named after director Robert Zemeckis.

7.  The film involves finding "Easter eggs" (hidden references), and the film itself opened on Easter weekend.

6.  Tye Sheridan plays a character that spends a significant portion of the film wearing a gadget over his eyes, just like his character, Cyclops in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016).

5.  The "Zemeckis Cube" is actually a Rubic's cube, an homage to Robert Zemeckis as is the use of Wade's Delorean in the Oasis.

4.  A reference to Spielberg can be found in the first part of the race where the T-Rex from Jurassic Park pops up with the familiar growling sound and appearance.

3.  The film's taglines are "A better reality awaits.",  "Break Free", and  "An adventure too big for the real world".

2.  Known in Poland only as "Player One", because "Ready" is not in the Polish language.

1.  "Ready Player One" is a phrase from the days of classic video games.

Death Wish (2018) Movie Review

Cinescape Magazine is a look at film, tv, comics, video games, and 70's, 80's and 90's nostalgia from the perspective of two normal average joe's that just love movies, in whatever form they come in.

"If a man really wants to protect what's his, he has to do it for himself."
Death Wish (2018)
Let's just start off by saying that there is a much better type of this film out there to watch, and that's The Boondock Saints. The critics weren't too big on it, but what the hell do they know anyway (winkin atcha)?! Talk about an unnecessary remake, with unnecessary exaggerations, and unnecessary changes to the original film. There's no character development, just Bruce Willis (Red 2) self-gratifying himself all over Chicago with a gun and 80's action hero kill remarks that would make Arnie smirk. What would have been nice, would've been to see Willis's character having to deal with the emotional trauma of murdering people (bad they may…

The 15:17 to Paris Movie Review

Cinescape Magazine is a look at film, tv, comics, video games, and 70's, 80's and 90's nostalgia from the perspective of two normal average joe's that just love movies, in whatever form they come in.

"You ever feel like life is pushing us towards some greater purpose?"
The 15:17 to Paris
As a life long resident of Sacramento, California's outlying areas (for now), I find it amazing that I had never heard about the Thalys train attack of 2015. I mean the three heroes were from my town and there was even a freaking parade! What the hell was I doing at the time that would warrant such an oversight? So when I was invited by a friend to see Clint Eastwood's (Gran Torino) latest direction, I of course said yes (free movies!), but I also felt like an idiot for not knowing a damn thing about it. Anyways, The 15:17 to Paris brings up a feeling of area pride from its heroes Spencer Stone, Anthony Sadler, and Alek Skarlatos, yet unfortunately that's about it.…

Black Panther Movie Review

MOVIE REVIEW

"You cannot let your father's actions define your life. You get to decide what kind of king you want to be."
Black Panther
Am I supposed to be on this Black Panther bandwagon that has been going around lately? The simple (and safe) answer is "yes!". In spite of being a white dude (like why would this guy get it?), and having seen so many damned superhero films in the last two decades, I still think that this movie has something new and important to give to us.

Without getting all "We Are The World" on everybody, I'll just say that this should've happened much sooner than it did, and we'll leave it at that. Chadwick Boseman (Draft Day) owns this role and approaches every scene with the confidence of James Bond. He brings a leading man to the MCU that hasn't been seen since Captain America: The First Avenger. Boseman's large supporting cast each give something specific and memorable to their parts from acting veterans Ang…
